KEVIN DANIELS
PRESIDENT
Kevin Daniels has over 35 years of real estate experience, with a passion for the preservation, restoration and reuse of historic structures. He is recognized as a leading voice for stimulating economic development through preservation efforts and his team has received three National Preservation Awards and numerous local and state awards for their work.
The American Institute of Architects has made Kevin an honorary member for his body of preservation work. He was the first recipient of the Urban Hero award from the International Sustainability Institute, recipient of the Washington State Special Achievement Award, and the Judge’s Choice Award from the National Association of Office & Industrial Properties for his efforts to save the historic Sanctuary building, part of the former First United Methodist Church in downtown Seattle.
Kevin serves on the Board of Trustees for the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Board of Regents for Gonzaga University, the Boards of the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation and as board emeriti for Historic Seattle.
Outside of the Pacific Northwest, Kevin is actively involved in Operation Comeback in New Orleans and has worked with the AIA and AWB to bring architects and other professionals to the lower Ninth Ward rebuilding effort. He worked with the Jane Goodall Institute’s Shanghai office (Roots & Shoots program) to bring the EcoAudit program to the United States with the establishment of the first program office in Seattle. In collaboration with the Cool School Challenge this sustainability education program for youth is now spreading across the country.
Daniels Real Estate has been focused on the preservation of St. Edward Seminary for several years and is honored to be selected by the Washington State Parks Commission to restore and reopen the building as parks lodge and community asset.
