Trevina Wang
VICE PRESIDENT FOR HISTORIC PROPERTIES AT DANIELS REAL ESTATE
PROJECT MANAGER FOR THE LODGE AT SAINT EDWARD PARK
Trevina Wang is experienced in managing complicated, historic restoration projects. Over the past fifteen-years, she has played an active role in working with federal, state and local preservation agencies on the review and permitting for landmark projects. Notably, Trevina directed all phases of the multiple award-winning LEED Platinum Certified King Street Station Rehabilitation Project.
Built between 1904 and 1906, King Street Station is still a working transit hub. However, over the years, building modernization efforts concealed the station’s original ornate interior. In 1965, the station’s ornamental plaster ceiling in the main waiting room, the upper station windows and balconies were hidden by a lower acoustical tiled ceiling. Marble panels and mosaic glass tiles were removed from columns and walls as high as the new dropped ceiling. The bronze chandeliers and sconces were replaced by fluorescent light fixtures. The grand staircase linking South Jackson Street with the west entrance was reduced to half its original size to house an external escalator on the west side of the building. After the remodel, the only original remaining features left visible in the main waiting area were the terrazzo tile floor and the clock on the west wall above the restrooms.
Working for the City of Seattle, Trevina negotiated with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railways to transfer ownership of the station to the City of Seattle to restore the station to its former glory. She directed all phases of the project from design to construction, and resolved a $28 million project funding gap by pursuing grant funds from federal, state, city and private groups for station rehabilitation. The project has received multiple architectural, transportation and engineering awards including in 2014, the National Preservation Award from the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
For the Lodge at St. Edward Park, Trevina has been the project lead and will continue to direct the effort thru all phases of design, construction and procurement. You will often see Trevina on site, taking photos and leading potential project team members through the building in preparation for the restoration effort.
